Easter — the Result Of Incorrect Focus

For the past couple of decades, every Easter brought about a study of the medical account of the Crucifixion.

If you are not familiar with this, there are studies that take a medical viewpoint of Christ’s ordeal as man and human being during the hours leading up as well as his time on the Cross, I highly suggest you look into it.

But I do warn you NOT to eat anything or forsake your curiosity if you are squeamish.

Even after more than 20 years, I keep discovering something new about what Christ endured to beat death’s door down and it still leaves me in awe of it all.

This year, I thought I’d take a ‘break’ from my annual study and look at what lead to the reason for the need for the Crucifixion — Satan himself.

I happen upon several sources that placed the Bible together by events instead of the normal book order.

It is an eye-opener, even after studying the Bible for 8 years in Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek, and English, this event order of the Bible was an eye opener.

Many sources will put the books of the Bible in chronological order but won’t drill down more than that — a few have taken the task upon themselves to drill down into each of the books and present the Bible in that fashion.

For whatever reason, the various recognized Bible Societies won’t bother with such productions so it is up to the reader to know the Bible well as well as be forewarned that not all such projects are being undertaken wholeheartedly but intellectually.That is code for not using any discernment.

That is code for not using any discernment.

So, I have some notes on who Lucifer was, why he is known by 2 names (they mean different things), what and how it happened as well as some clarifications on beliefs many religious doctrines, like the Roman Catholic church, embrace that don’t have any evidence in the Bible.

That doesn’t mean any church is evil, it does mean that one really needs to be careful to whose voices they listen to as well as learn how to verify what they have heard.

With that, let’s begin (BTW, the KJV is used in the scripture provided, not my favorite but one most seem to turn to for many reasons).

The first and most evident absence is the rabbit — and the eggs… there is NO evidence any rabbit nor eggs had anything to do with the real reason for Easter.

Sorry…

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
~ Genesis 1:1

 4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
 5 Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched the line upon it?
 6 Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner-stone thereof,
 7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
~ Job 39:4-7

13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;
14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:
15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;
16 for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;
~ Colossians 1:13-16

‘sons of God’, since it is before Christ’s arrival on earth, is a reference to angels

From all my readings, angels are spirits, made by God as it is only by Him all things were created — emphasis on all things

Angels are created beings, meaning they had no birth, they never had an infant stage, and will never have an elderly stage — they just are.

Being of spirit, they do not have the dimensional limitations the physical world has…

Now as far as people going to heaven as angels,
the Bible says nothing about people becoming angels when we die,
nor does the Bible say anything about baby angels.

The female gender for angels is not mentioned in the Bible either – if one stops think about it, they are immortal, so they do not need to reproduce, so a female angel is not necessary (sorry ladies, take it up with God once you see Him 🙂 ).

The question of the Sadducees presented to Christ about divorce, especially multiple divorces, gives some light into all this (Matthew 22:30):
“If a women married 7 times, who would be her husband in the resurrection?”

Jesus replied,
“For in the resurrection, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels of God in heaven.

The keyword here being like, meaning not the same but similar.

More evidence from the Bible that angels are male…

Genesis 6:2
that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all that they chose. — the angels took human females as wives, and it appears more than one (apparently wisdom was still in its infant stages at this time? No clue)

Genesis 6:4
The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.

Nephilim?

Nephilim/ˈnɛfᵻˌlɪm/ (Hebrew: נְפִילִים‎) were the offspring of the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men” before the Deluge. According to Numbers 13:33, they later inhabited Canaan at the time of the Israelite conquest of Canaan. An either similar or identical biblical Hebrew term, read as “Nephilim” by some scholars, or as the word “fallen” by others, appears in Ezekiel 32:27. Nephilims, by the way, were giants in stature.

OK, let’s go back to the beginning… Genesis 1

Genesis 1
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
2 And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

This event is continued in Jeremiah 4…

23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was waste and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved to and fro.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of Jehovah, and before his fierce anger.

OK, some questions…
Birds are mentioned here — but birds are not yet create, what gives?…
Who made the cities as man was not yet created?
And why was God angry?

One can assume that the cities and birds were created for the angels, before the earth was created for man, though thre is no evidence of this save a few verses in the Old Testament. Remember, the angels were shouting for joy when the Earth was created, yet nothing created for them is specifically mentioned anywhere in the Bible. One of the reasons the Bible was specifically for man and only man.

The following thoughts are not directly addressed in the Bible, however many agree on the following…

Lucifer means ‘bright morning star’ – meaning he had to be close to God…

Lucifer’s pride created a rift between him and God, and Lucifer developed followers presumably in both heaven and on earth.

Lucifer wanted to be like God, which seeded, harbored, and grew rebellion in his heart, wnting to overthrow God.

Wisdom was not with Lucifer, as only God could create, none of the angels had this ability.

Lucifer was later renamed Satan, which means adversary or opponent.

Scriptures that provide some evidence of this…

Isaiah 14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, that didst lay low the nations!
13 And thou saidst in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit upon the mount of congregation, in the uttermost parts of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to Sheol, to the uttermost parts of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall gaze at thee, they shall consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
17 that made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; that let not loose his prisoners to their home?

Ezekiel 28
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou wast in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was in thee; in the day that thou wast created they were prepared.
14 Thou wast the anointed cherub that covereth: and I set thee, so that thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.
16 By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore have I cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God; and I have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground; I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 By the multitude of thine iniquities, in the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries; therefore have I brought forth a fire from the midst of thee; it hath devoured thee, and I have turned thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All they that know thee among the peoples shall be astonished at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt nevermore have any being.

The time is not noted but a war did break out in heaven… some heads of religions would spin their heads if they heard there was a war in heaven, but yet there was an it is written as so…

Revelation 12
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels going forth to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels;
8 and they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

Jesus was a witness to all this…

Luke 10
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven.
When the Bible says ‘you shall be no more forever’, that is Satan’s end. Satan is not in hell as it is not sent there, he is sent to roam the earth…

1 Peter 5
8 Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Job 1
6 Now it came to pass on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah, that Satan also came among them.
7 And Jehovah said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered Jehovah, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8 And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil.

Every time God asks a question, it is not from Him having any lack of information. The questions are actually statements – the questions are for us so to remember.

Verse 8 provides Satan’s mission: to devour souls.

Matthew 25
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels:

Hell is not ruled by Satan, it was originally created for Satan and his angels, not for humans to be punished.

Hell, the eternal fire is also the ONLY place where God’ presence is lacking, evidenced from Him saying ‘Depart from me… into the eternal fire…’

Satan has followers, angels, originally created by God, not by Satan, and can appear to be good, thereby deceiving those not being careful…

2 Corinthians 11
14 And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light.

The tools and looks of Satan and his followers: adversary, deceiver, beautiful and appealing.

If one stops to think about it, the Crucifixion was and still is the result of only one angel — one very deceptive, cunning, and jealous angel.

And yet, as evidenced by Job as well as the 40 days in the desert with Christ, Satan can do anything without permission.

Yet he believes he can overpower God and reign supreme…

Like I said, deceiving – wisdom and discernment is not available for him as it is said in Proverbs that wisdom is of God.
1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Though God regretted creating man (Genesis 6:6), He let us live and over came His regret to love us…

We do have an awesome God…
